SCHEDULE

Saturday 16th August

6:30am Chaney's Forest Gate Open and optional Trail Viewing 
6:30am Vehicle Check - Those without CSDC vehicle permits will be issued permits from this time onwards 
7.00am Chaney's Forest Gate Locked, please collect bibs and musher packs before the mushers meeting 
7.15am Mushers meeting 
7:45am Races start, race order as follows; 

  • Rig Race (6, 4, 3 and 2 together)

  • Single Dog Scooter 

  • Two Dog Scooter

  • Bikejor (1 dog followed by 2 dog)

  • Veterans Open Class (Scooter followed by Bike)

  • Pee-Wee Races

  • Caniwaddle

12 Noon Prize Giving, lunch, bib draw for day 2 racing. Location: Belfast Pony Club, 29 Spencerville Road

Sunday 17th August

6:30am Chaney's Forest Gate Open and Vehicle Check
7:00am Chaney's Forest Gate Locked
7:30am Races start, race order as follows; 

  • Rig Race (6, 4, 3 and 2 together) 

  • Single Dog Scooter 

  • Two Dog Scooter

  • Bikejor (1 Dog)

  • Veterans Open Class (Scooter followed by Bike)

  • Pee Wee Races 

  • Canicross

12 Noon Day 2 Prize Giving. Location: The Peg Tavern, 899 Main North Road, Belfast. 

BIB DRAW & MUSHERS MEETING

Saturday Morning: Please collect your bibs and musher pack from the Gazebo in the forest before the race. Sunday's bibs will be drawn at the Pony Club on Saturday 16th
Day 1        Friday 15th August, 5:00pm          Virtual Bib Draw (Remote location: 25 Transport Lane, Oxford)
Day 2        Saturday 16th August, 12:30pm   Belfast Pony Club (after racing is completed) 

PARKING ALLOCATIONS

Parking is very full over the weekend. Additional small vehicles maybe able to park in the sandy terrain above 26-21 or in the official's area.

Allocated parking has first priority.

CHANGES TO YOUR ENTRY

  • These will be accepted up until Midnight Sunday 10th August

  • Changes must be submitted via email (changes via txt or social media will not be accepted)

  • Changes after this date will only be accepted with just cause and are at the discretion of the race secretary and race marshal.

  • Please ensure you check your entry clearly as entry on the day will not be accepted.


Please be familiar with the NZFSS RULES

Dog Age

All dogs must be:

  • 12 months or older to compete in rig and scooter races.

  • 18 months or older to compete in bikejor and canicross races.​
     

Musher Age

Mushers must be:

  • 16 years or older to compete in bikejor*

  • 11 years or older to compete in canicross*
    *Unless an prior exemption has been approved.

Forest Entry Requirements

In order to enter the Matariki Forests estate by vehicle, you must have the following ​​

  • Current WOF & REGO (Vehicle & Trailer)

  • Have a current Fire Extinguisher (Min 1kg)

  • Have a human first-aid kit

  • Minimum of third party insurance

  • Valid and appropriate drivers license

  • Non turbo diesels must fit an exhaust sock
